Toonie Tuesday December 2nd

Tuesday December 2nd 2014 will be Toonie Tuesday.
Please encourage your child to participate by NOT wearing his/her uniform and bringing a toonie...
The money collected is given to the PST and is part of fundraising for the school.

Bake sale update

The PST would like to thank all parents for their generous  food donations for the bake sale.
We greatly appreciate all those who helped us out and volunteered their time.
We would also like to extend a special thanks to Um Khalid for her bighearted donation of 2 trays of Kunafah, 100 pieces of Lahmeh Ba'ajeen Trabelsiye and 60 pieces of Kebbeh.
All items were delicious and a big hit with the parents and staff. If you would like to place an order from her catering business, please contact  Um Khalid at (819) 893-0541.

PST Meeting and Hot Lunch Secondary school update

The Parents Support Team would like would like to invite ALL the Parents and staff at Abraar School to the Parents Support Team (PST) Meeting on 

Thursday Nov 13th @ 3:50pm at Abraar Elementary School (Fieldrow street) in the SK class. 

If you are interested in volunteering with the PST and the events it organizes please attend this meeting. The PST is looking for volunteers for the upcoming shows: Talent show, BBQ, Hot Lunch Program.

Hot Lunch in the Secondary School

The PST has received comments and suggestions from several secondary parents on starting the Hot Lunch program in the Secondary school. We would like to invite those parents, who are interested in starting this program and are ready to take a lead on it, to attend this meeting and ask any questions that they may have.
The current PST is more than ready to help them in taking this initiative and to share resources with them.
Dad's Day

Volunteers are needed to get this started. We need a male volunteer to take the lead on this. 

Mother -daughter night

Volunteers are needs to take a lead on this and to plan out the details.

Bake Sale Volunteer Form

PTI night - Bake Sale

The Parents Support Team (PST) cordially invites you to the Bake Sale Fundraiser that will be running during the PTI Night on

Thursday, November 20th from 4pm-8pm
@ Hallway next to the Abraar School Gym (Elementary Branch) - 70 Fieldrow Street

The PST events help raise funds for different activities in school. We need your support and help, so we hope to see all of you during this wonderful event.

How can YOU help make this event a success?
It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3…..

  1. By donating a food item for the bake sale.  To ensure a variety of dishes, we have divided the bake sale donation categories as follow:

Sk1, Gr.1b, Gr.2a, Gr.3b, Gr.4a, Gr.6a, Gr.6b
SK2, Gr1a, Gr.2b, Gr.3a Gr.4b, Gr.5a, Gr. 5b
Drinks (Juice Boxes- Pop - Water Bottles)
Jk1, JK2 & Abraar School Staff

  1. Dropping off all Food/Drink items at the ADMIN OFFICE on the morning of November 20th, 2014 and not brought in later on in the day.  
  2. Ensuring that the donated items are NUT-FREE and self-serving (no scooping/cutting required). Bakers are asked to place bake goods in small baggies for individual sale; i.e: two to four cookies or one medium brownie per bag.

For Small Businesses:
If you are a small business and would like to donate you may do the following:

Place your business cards with your donated items
  • Have a small display (12 inches x 18 inches ; and maximum 12 inches high) with your business logo on it along with the donated items. (for example, a foam stand with cake pops on it and your logo printed on the stand.)
  • Please drop-off food by 3:00pm at the Fieldrow location.
